What to Expect for the Next Generation of Ceiva Digital Picture Frames

There was once a time when visions of moving photos and picture frames than displayed random images were relegated to science fiction books and movies. Fortunately, it is now the 21st Century, and this type of technology is now easily available to all of us. The Ceiva digital picture frames were the very first on the market and continue to be among the leaders in sales and development. Seeing as our mobile networking and computing technologies and capabilities had many innovative developments, what kind of features might there be in digital picture frames as that technology continues to evolve accordingly?

The one thing that all electronic photo frame must have is a method of saving the images that are displayed. Some of the better models out today will have a combination of internal memory, as well as slots for both SD cards and USB devices and connections. We are already increasingly storing more information on smaller devices, so the next generation of digital frames could likely be able to save many thousands of images with a single memory device. As the newer models of digital frames expand the USB capabilities to further interact with computers and mobile devices, uploading and downloading files, as well as displaying them on televisions and projectors, will all be made much quicker and easier.

Another feature that is available on some models now but should soon be standard, is the ability to play music and video. Even more, you should be able to customize specific playlists and soundtracks to go along with specific saved photo albums and slide shows. Along with the still photos, video capabilities will allow us to also add random home video clips or clips from our favorite movies and shows into the mix. There are so many creative possibilities with this technology, especially for holidays, birthdays, or ultra-hip house parties!

When you add wireless networking technology to these digital frames, then this last point becomes even more true. You would be able to connect to different devices wirelessly, as well as connect to the internet to directly upload or download images, video, and audio directly to and from the picture frame. Having this feature will also make it possible to have different digital frames accessing either the same or designated photo and media files directly from a common wireless server. Another feature that wireless networking technology makes possible is the ability to stream live video and audio from both local and remote devices and sources.

As more of us realize that we are more than a decade into the 21st Century, people will begin to expect and accept our past visions of the future as a good part of our present reality. Notebook-thin touchscreen computers, handheld video phones, digital video-photo frames, these past dreams of the future have all become part of our present reality. When you look at how just the digital picture frames by themselves have developed, then you can only imagine what kind of devices and technologies we have yet to witness and experience!
